Pangolin Conservation (DBA under Zoological Conservation) has received recognized status by the IRS as a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization. What does this mean? It means that in addition to already being a non-profit incorporated organization, donations made to Pangolin Conservation are tax deductible in the USA. This includes any previous donations people have made through our donation links or to our organization.
Thank you to all those who have donated to us in the past, as well as in the future. Thankfully, because our non-profit status is retroactive (according to the IRS), you can deduct any previous donations made to Pangolin Conservation/ Zoological Conservation on your taxes!
For those who wish to donate, we need your help! We are starting to survey land (that we are acquiring for a reserve) in West Africa, using motion-activated cameras, for pangolins and other rare/imperiled species. The area we are working has a high amount of endemic species rapidly being lost. Each camera (and required supplies) cost around $200. Any donations made in the next week will be going towards this project unless otherwise specified by the donor. We are hoping to use this survey as a jumping off project for a grad student to take on later this fall. So, for very $200 donated, you supplied us with another great opportunity to find rare and endangered species. Maybe we’ll get lucky and even find another presumed EXTINCT species, like we did previously (as profiled on NatGeo). Maybe your donation will even be responsible for finding a brand new species!
